Look Sports Media – The 5-a-side football game Rematch, developed by Sloclap (creators of Sifu), is set to launch with a star-studded roster. Legendary Brazilian footballer Ronaldinho, Manchester United’s rising star Kobbie Mainoo, and Barcelona goalkeeper Marc-André ter Stegen have been confirmed as playable characters. This follows a behind-the-scenes video showcasing Ronaldinho’s visit to Sloclap’s Paris studio, where he saw his in-game model and offered insights into the game’s development. Ronaldinho’s unique playing style served as a major inspiration for Rematch‘s focus on creative dribbling and individual player control within its third-person perspective. He will also act as a brand ambassador.
The news coincides with the final open beta, currently live on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X/S. This beta, following a hugely successful PC-only beta that saw over 1.3 million sign-ups and 2.8 million matches played, has already attracted 2.5 million sign-ups across all platforms. Gamers can experience 3v3, 4v4, and 5v5 modes, including ranked matches. While the three football stars won’t be playable in the beta, their inclusion at launch promises to significantly boost the game’s appeal.

Rematch launches on June 19th, priced at £21. While details on how the pro players will function in-game remain scarce—it’s likely they will be purchasable skins via the in-game shop—Sloclap has confirmed a battle pass system with both free and paid tiers. Crucially, completing the paid battle pass will earn enough in-game currency to purchase the next season’s pass, avoiding additional costs. More real-world football stars are also teased for post-launch additions. The game’s unique blend of arcade-style football action and the allure of playing as iconic footballers is sure to attract a large player base.
