Get ready for a clash of titans! Berlin will host the Ascension EMEA finals, while Istanbul will once again welcome the Game Changers EMEA Stage 3 Grand Finals. The announcement also included crucial details about formats, schedules, and the nail-biting qualification process.
The VCT Ascension EMEA 2025 tournament, running from October 19th to 26th at the Riot Games Arena in Berlin, promises a revamped format and a full LAN experience. Six top Tier 2 teams will battle it out for the ultimate prize: a coveted spot in VCT EMEA. While early matches will utilize the newly refurbished Pro Player High Performance Rooms, ensuring a level playing field, the Grand Final will be a spectacle, played on stage in front of a roaring live audience. This year’s streamlined format, a double-elimination bracket with best-of-three series (except for the best-of-five Lower Bracket Final and Grand Final), ensures intense competition.
Qualification for Ascension is far from straightforward. Apeks and Gentle Mates, due to their Stage 1 performance, must fight to retain their Tier 1 status. Their fate hinges on their performance in VCT EMEA Stage 2 and whether they qualify for Valorant Champions (Champs) Paris. If they don’t make Champs, their Ascension seeding and the inclusion of other teams will depend on their Ascension Circuit Points ranking. This complex system leaves the door open for several Tier 2 teams to potentially rise to the challenge.
