Alfajer’s Back! Fnatic’s Valorant Title Hopes Get Huge Boost

Look Sports Media – Fnatic’s Valorant squad is set to receive a massive boost as star player Emir "Alfajer" Ali Beder is cleared to compete at VCT Champions Paris 2025. The news comes as a welcome relief to Fnatic fans, who were concerned after Alfajer missed the crucial Upper Bracket match against Paper Rex due to unexpected health issues.

Despite Alfajer’s absence, Fnatic remarkably secured a victory against Paper Rex, with Domagoj "Doma" Fancev, a last-minute substitute from Enterprise Esports, stepping up to fill the void. Doma’s impressive performance fueled speculation about his continued role, but Fnatic has confirmed Alfajer’s return for their upcoming match against NRG on Friday, where a spot in the Champions final is on the line.

Fnatic’s team director, Colin "Cojo" Johnson, expressed gratitude to a doctor in Paris who aided Alfajer’s recovery. "The private doctor we found here in Paris was great after what was a really rough hospital experience," Cojo stated. "Very communicative & helped us expedite all of the tests/appts we needed. Happy that we got the all clear today & that we can go into the NRG game whole."

While Alfajer’s return is undoubtedly the main headline, Fnatic has also confirmed that Doma will remain with the team in Paris as a substitute, adding an "extra buff," as the organization jokingly put it. Doma’s unexpected heroics against Paper Rex, achieved with only 16 hours’ notice and minimal sleep after flying to Paris, showcased his adaptability and resilience. His prior experience playing alongside Jake "Boaster" Howlett in Fnatic back in 2021 likely contributed to his seamless integration into the team.

Fnatic’s journey at this year’s World Championships has been nothing short of spectacular. After dominating their group, they secured an impressive 2-1 victory against DRX, highlighted by a remarkable comeback from a 10-2 deficit. The absence of Alfajer, described as "the final boss," against Paper Rex initially seemed like a significant setback. However, Fnatic defied expectations, avenging their Valorant Masters Toronto final loss with Doma filling in.

The match against Paper Rex was a rollercoaster, with Fnatic recovering from a 4-0 deficit in the first map, Bind, before ultimately losing 13-10. They retaliated with a dominant 13-4 victory on Haven, led by Kajetan "kaajak" Haremski’s exceptional performance. Despite Paper Rex regaining momentum on Lotus, Fnatic demonstrated remarkable composure, winning 10 consecutive rounds to secure a 13-9 victory and clinch the series. With Alfajer back in the lineup, Fnatic looks poised to continue their championship run.
