Look Sports Media – Ninjas in Pyjamas (NiP), the storied Swedish esports organization, has officially announced Grant Rousseau as its new Chief Operating Officer (COO). This move signals a significant shift for the organization, aiming to revitalize its competitive edge across a wide range of esports titles.
Rousseau’s arrival follows his departure from Team Falcons, a Saudi Arabian organization where he played a pivotal role in securing two Esports World Cup victories. His track record of success in building and managing high-performing esports teams makes him a valuable asset for NiP.

At NiP, Rousseau will be responsible for overseeing the growth and performance of the organization’s esports divisions, including its prominent Counter-Strike team and its League of Legends team competing in China’s LPL. Additionally, he will manage rosters in Apex Legends, EA SPORTS FC, Honor of Kings, Rainbow Six Siege X, Crossfire, Rocket League, and Street Fighter.

Rousseau’s past experiences include operational leadership roles at Splyce, Excel (now GIANTX), where he helped secure a spot in the League of Legends European Championship (LEC), and a less successful stint at Guild Esports. However, his tenure at Team Falcons solidified his reputation as a shrewd esports executive, leveraging the organization’s financial resources to assemble championship-caliber teams.
Despite Falcons’ extensive investment and roster changes, success in Counter-Strike, NiP’s signature esport, remained elusive. This presents a unique challenge for Rousseau at NiP, where expectations are high for a return to dominance in the game that made the organization famous.
Rousseau expressed his enthusiasm for joining NiP, stating, "I’ve followed the organization for over a decade as an esports fan, and after speaking with Hicham Chahine and Mario Ho, it’s clear there is an opportunity to bring back the competitive success and passion for the brand that has always made the organization so special."
Outlining his plans, Rousseau added, "I will be leading the performance and operations of NIP Group’s diverse esports rosters and strengthening the wider business across its established global verticals. The foundations are solid, and my intention is to take the organization back to the very top."
NiP Co-CEO Hicham Chahine echoed this sentiment, stating, "His achievements speak for themselves… We’re confident Grant will continue to find success with our esports rosters and drive the esports division’s growth globally, and we can’t wait for him to get started."
The appointment of Rousseau marks a new chapter for NiP, as the organization seeks to reclaim its position as a leading force in the global esports landscape. His experience, strategic vision, and proven ability to build winning teams make him a key figure in NiP’s ambitious plans for the future.
