Look Sports Media – Real Madrid’s star goalkeeper, Thibaut Courtois, is making a significant play in the UK esports scene with the launch of a state-of-the-art gaming hub in Hull. This venture, backed by the Federation of Sport, marks Courtois’ first major investment in the UK, further solidifying his growing influence within the competitive gaming world.
The £1.6 million immersive gaming center, first announced last year, has officially opened its doors in Hull’s Old Town, as reported by the Hull Daily Mail. The facility promises to generate 50 new jobs for the city, injecting fresh energy into the local economy.
Courtois expressed his enthusiasm for the project in June, stating that the Federation of Sport embodies his belief in leveraging technology to foster community. He envisions the hub as a place where young people can connect, compete, and collaborate in a positive and engaging environment, moving beyond solitary gaming experiences.

The Hull-based Federation of Sport venue boasts a diverse range of activities, including esports arenas, PC gaming stations, golf simulators, sim racing rigs, virtual reality escape rooms, team combat experiences, and interactive darts. Located in King William House, the hub aims to become a central location for esports tournaments catering to all skill levels and age groups.
Ambitious expansion plans are already in motion, with potential future locations earmarked for Birmingham, Leeds, and Manchester. The Federation of Sport also has its sights set on international expansion, with possible ventures into Spain, the Netherlands, and the UAE.
Antonio Tombanane, co-founder of the Federation of Sport, emphasized the vast potential of the project, stating that the Hull launch demonstrates their ambition to build something truly significant on a global scale.
Courtois’ involvement in esports extends beyond this venture. He has previously co-founded TC Esports and TC Racing, and owns the Spanish esports organization DUX Gaming. TC Esports specializes in sim racing and competes in the Prodigy Racing League. Courtois also has his own racing team competing in the Spanish F4 championship. The goalkeeper himself has participated in online sim racing events, even competing alongside Formula One stars like Max Verstappen and Lando Norris during the Covid-19 pandemic.
