Humanoid Returns! Vitality’s LEC 2026 Power Play?

Look Sports Media – Team Vitality has officially unveiled its League of Legends lineup for the upcoming 2026 LEC season, featuring a singular, impactful alteration that promises to reshape their competitive landscape. Following a 2025 season where they contended fiercely for a spot at the LoL World Championship but ultimately fell to Karmine Corp in the playoffs, the Bees are strategically fortifying their core, aiming to capitalize on the stellar inaugural performances of their emerging talents.

The pivotal acquisition for Vitality comes in the mid-lane, with the return of veteran talent Humanoid. After a three-year tenure with Fnatic and a temporary hiatus during the 2025 Summer Split, Humanoid’s re-entry into the competitive scene is a significant statement. This move also marks a highly anticipated reunion with AD Carry Carzzy, rekindling a partnership that previously secured multiple LEC championships during their time together on MAD Lions, with their last collaboration dating back to 2021.

This high-profile signing, however, comes at the cost of Mateusz "Czajek" Czajka, Vitality’s promising mid-lane talent, who has been unexpectedly dropped from the main roster. Despite delivering a commendable rookie performance in the 2025 LEC season, following two years honing his skills with Vitality.Bee, Czajek finds himself relegated back to the LFL academy squad. He remains under contract with Vitality until 2027. Reports from Sheep Esports indicated that Natus Vincere had considered Czajka, but the organization ultimately opted for Sung-won "Poby" Yun instead.

While Czajka’s departure is a notable shift, Vitality has maintained faith in their other two standout rookies from 2025. Former high-level volleyball player Naak Nako has swiftly established himself as the team’s linchpin in the top lane, consistently delivering dominant performances. Similarly, Fleshy made a significant impact in the support role, stepping in for Zdravets "Hylissang" Galabov during the Summer Split and impressing critics. The critical determinant for this roster’s ultimate ceiling, however, remains jungler Lyncas’s ability to fully realize his potential as he enters his third LEC season with Vitality.

Adding another layer of excitement to the 2026 season, Riot Games has announced an innovative new LEC event to kick off the year: LEC Versus. This tournament, replacing the traditional Winter Split, is slated to begin on January 17th, 2026. It expands the competitive field to twelve contenders, inviting elite performers from the EMEA Regional Leagues (ERLs) alongside the standard LEC teams. Among the invited are EMEA Masters Summer Champions Karmine Corp Blue and three-time NLC winners Los Ratones. The format will feature a single round-robin stage where every team clashes in best-of-one matches, with the leading eight squads progressing to a high-stakes playoff bracket. The playoffs will commence with best-of-three series in the initial two rounds, culminating in best-of-five showdowns for the remainder. The ultimate victor of the playoffs will claim the inaugural LEC Versus championship and secure a coveted berth at the First Stand international competition.
