ALGS Championship: Underdogs, Dynasty Teams, and APAC Rising!

Look Sports Media – The dust has settled after intense Regional Finals and nail-biting Last Chance Qualifiers (LCQs), the full roster of teams battling for the ALGS Year 5 Championship in Sapporo is locked in. Which squads clawed their way to glory, and who will be the ones to watch as the world’s best Apex Legends teams collide?

The Regional Finals saw some expected victories and some clutch performances under immense pressure. In APAC-N and APAC-S, the Regional Final winners, SYRALE and Boogie Boarders respectively, needed to win to qualify, showcasing incredible resilience when it mattered most.

However, APAC-South’s Gen.G truly dominated. The trio of Z1CKKY, ASIAZXD, and Dexter secured a contract extension until 2028. ASIAZXD also shattered the Pro League kill record, racking up 34 kills in just six games with an impressive 3.67 K/D ratio. Meanwhile, Alliance in EMEA and Shopify Rebellion in the Americas continued their reigns, securing both Pro League and Regional Final titles.

The LCQs were a brutal gauntlet. In APAC-North, Riddle Order and Reignite punched their tickets, guaranteeing a strong Japanese presence on home soil. APAC-South saw Team Mango and Vegas Inferno emerge victorious after a grueling 10-game series. With ten qualified teams, APAC-South is now the second-most represented region at the Championship, highlighting the region’s growing talent pool. This has led to calls for EA to directly broadcast APAC-South, elevating it to the same level as the Americas and EMEA.

EMEA saw Supernova (formerly TheHorde) and FaZe Clan secure their spots. For FaZe Clan, this marks another successful LCQ run, a testament to their ability to perform under pressure. Supernova’s win also marks the return of Hardecki, known for his aggressive playstyle.

In the Americas, Men of Culture and Oblivion defied expectations. Despite a strong showing in the Regional Finals, Exterminators failed to qualify. Oblivion’s qualification brings back familiar faces like Blinkzr, Monsoon, and FunFPS, coached by RubyKaster, one of the few female coaches in the ALGS.
