A significant quality-of-life improvement arrives with Patch 25.21: all champions are now unlocked in the Practice Tool. Players can experiment with any champion, regardless of ownership, in solo mode. This allows for in-depth testing of builds and mechanics without the need to purchase or wait for free champion rotations. Riot has also added functionality to spawn and respawn jungle camps, further enhancing the Practice Tool’s utility.

ARAM Mayhem Takes Over

The highly anticipated ARAM Mayhem mode has finally arrived. This chaotic spin on the classic ARAM map infuses the single-lane brawl with Augments borrowed from the Arena mode. Players will be presented with a choice of three powerful Augments at the start of the match, and additional choices will appear at levels 7, 11, and 15. ARAM Mayhem will be available until Patch 25.24, after which the winter-themed Summoner’s Rift is expected to make its return.

Champion Balance Adjustments

Patch 25.21 brings a mix of buffs and nerfs to the champion roster:

  • Bard: Receives buffs to his W, Caretaker’s Shrine, increasing both the minimum and maximum heal, as well as the movement speed bonus. Riot aims to increase Bard’s AP build viability and potentially see him in professional play.
  • Ezreal: Gets a boost to his Attack Damage Growth to improve his late-game scaling, particularly at lower ranks.
  • Kalista: Sees an increase to her Attack Damage Growth, aiming to enhance her mid-game strength.
  • Yone: Receives an Attack Damage buff to his base stats to bolster his early game power.
  • Yunara: LoL’s newest champion, gets a series of adjustments to her W and E abilities, designed to improve her scaling and mobility.
  • Diana: Sees a slight nerf to her Passive’s monster damage, toning down her jungle clear speed.
  • Dr. Mundo: Receives adjustments that shift his power from late-game burst to late-game durability.
  • Graves: Is adjusted to emphasize his sustained fight pattern, granting him bonus Magic Resistance from his E, Quickdraw, but reducing his base Magic Resistance.
  • Gwen: Sees a partial revert to her pre-25.06 state, with some nerfs to her armor growth and jungle clear.
  • Kog’Maw: Receives a nerf to his Q, Caustic Spittle, reducing the passive Attack Speed bonus to weaken his early trading.
  • Morgana: Sees a nerf to her Armor Growth to open up more weaknesses in the mid lane.
  • Qiyana: Is hit with nerfs to her Health Growth and Q damage, aiming to reduce her dominance in both mid lane and jungle.
  • Quinn: Receives nerfs to her Q and R damage, intended to diversify her build options and prevent her from completely dominating the top lane.

Item and Rune Changes

Several items and runes have also been adjusted:

  • Catalyst of Aeons: Health reduced from 350 to 300.
  • Doran’s Blade: Reverted to its 14.1 version, removing 3% Lifesteal and adding 2.5% heal for damage dealt (reduced for AoE and pet spells).
  • Doran’s Ring: Mana Regeneration reduced, but increased after damaging an enemy champion. Health Regeneration now scales with mana regeneration.
  • Doran’s Shield: Max Healing reduced for melee champions.
  • Second Wind: Healing after taking damage now scales with missing health.

Patch 25.21 promises to shake up the League of Legends meta with its blend of new content and balance changes. Players will need to adapt to the new ARAM Mayhem mode and the adjustments to their favorite champions to stay ahead of the curve.
