City Enters the Arena! Man City Joins Rocket League!

Look Sports Media – Premier League giants Manchester City are officially entering the high-octane world of Rocket League esports, marking a significant expansion of their competitive gaming portfolio. The club has acquired the talented "2 Danes 1 Bruv" roster, consisting of Danish stars William "ejby" Lorentzen and Christian "TempoH" Mortensen, alongside British player Aston "Accro" Smith.

This acquisition signals Manchester City’s debut in Rocket League esports, with the team set to compete at the RLCS 2026 Kick-Off Weekend this week. The tournament, hosted at BLAST Studios in Copenhagen, Denmark, offers a coveted spot at the RLCS Boston Major for the victor.

Manchester City’s inaugural match is scheduled for Friday, December 5th, against NOVO Esports.

"Super excited to join City," said ejby following the announcement. "Can’t wait to show what we’re made of in Copenhagen tomorrow. Come on City!"

TempoH echoed the sentiment, adding, "Very excited for this opportunity and to be a part of Manchester City with the boys."

This move represents Manchester City’s tenth year in esports, and a surprising entry into the popular vehicular soccer title. While other football clubs like PSG, Barcelona, and Wolves have previously ventured into Rocket League, City’s arrival further validates the growing appeal of the game within the esports landscape.

Manchester City’s esports journey began in 2016 with FIFA player Kieran "Kez" Brown. While primarily focused on FIFA/EA FC, the club has also dabbled in Fortnite, making Rocket League their third esports endeavor.

In Fortnite, City achieved some success, with Jarvis "Kwanti" Duong and Aidan "Threats" Mong winning DreamHack San Diego in 2023. The club has also enjoyed consistent success in EA FC esports, securing ePremier League titles in 2019, 2024, and 2025. However, Donovan "Tekkz" Hunt, a key member of their double-winning EA FC roster, recently departed to join RBZL Gaming, the esports arm of Red Bull Leipzig.
