Look Sports Media – Kai Cenat’s inaugural Streamer University, a weekend-long boot camp for 120 content creators held at the University of Akron, culminated in a star-studded awards ceremony featuring a surprise appearance by none other than Drake. The event, which initially drew a staggering 10 million viewers for Cenat’s opening "Orientation Day" stream on May 22nd, 2025, concluded on Sunday, May 25th with a spectacular awards show broadcast live on Twitch.
Drake, in a surprise appearance, lauded Cenat’s innovative concept, calling him a "game-changer" and hailing streaming as a legitimate and "ideal" profession. He emphasized the event’s groundbreaking nature, stating, "To be able to organize this incredible academia event and gather you all together in one place is something that has never been done before." He urged the audience to show their appreciation for Cenat, referring to him as "the one and only Dean." The rapper’s presence underscored the growing legitimacy and influence of online streaming as a major media force.

A total of 23 awards were presented, celebrating the diverse range of talent among the participants. The student body encompassed gaming streamers, musicians, lifestyle influencers, and more. DDG (Darryl Dwayne Granberry Jr.) emerged as the standout performer, securing two prestigious awards: University Streamer’s Most Valuable Player and Best Professor.

The concept of Streamer University, first teased by Cenat in February, involved selecting 120 students from over a million applicants. The program, entirely free for participants, covered travel, accommodation, and meals, providing a unique learning environment and significant exposure for aspiring creators. Mentorship from established figures like DDG and Extra Emily further enhanced the program’s value. Cenat’s vision, as he stated earlier this month, was to create "a school where chaos is encouraged and content is king," and the event undeniably delivered on that promise. The success of Streamer University marks a significant moment in the evolution of online content creation, solidifying its place as a viable and exciting career path.
