EVO Lands in Europe: 2XKO Makes Competitive Debut!

Look Sports Media – The prestigious Evolution Championship Series (EVO) has officially launched its first-ever European event, EVO France, running from October 10-12. This marks a significant milestone for the fighting game community (FGC), bringing the iconic tournament series to a new continent.

EVO, a cornerstone of competitive gaming, boasts a rich history spanning decades, showcasing some of the FGC’s most celebrated titles. EVO France 2025 continues this tradition with a diverse lineup of games, including:

The event has drawn top-tier FGC talent from around the globe, all vying for a coveted EVO title. Notable Tekken 8 competitors include Pakistan’s Arslan Ash, ATIF, and Farzeen. The UK boasts a strong Tekken presence with eight representatives, including Kaneandtrench, Gosain, and Ayorichie, alongside Ireland’s Fergus McGee. Vitality’s Superstar, Jeondding, is also competing on home soil.

Street Fighter 6 features the UK’s MOUZ representatives, EndingWalker and Problem X, as well as renowned players like Shara, Hikaru, and South Korea’s Leshar. The Street Fighter 6 tournament is the largest at EVO France, with over 1,500 registered participants battling it out in a three-day, double-elimination format. The victor will secure a spot at Capcom Cup 12 in Tokyo, Japan, a high-stakes event with a $1,280,000 prize pool, marking the culmination of the Capcom Pro Tour.

Similarly, the winners of the Guilty Gear and Granblue Fantasy Versus tournaments will qualify for the ARC World Tour 2025-2026 Finals. The City of Wolves winner will qualify for SWC 2025 Finals, which boasts a huge $2,500,000 prize pool.

2XKO Takes Center Stage

Adding to the excitement, EVO France features side tournaments, including the competitive debut of Riot Games’ highly anticipated fighting game, 2XKO. As part of Riot’s "First Impact" initiative, "2 NICE KO" will run from October 10-11, featuring a $5,000 prize pool provided by Riot Publishers. The tournament will showcase FGC legends and former EVO champions such as Dominique "SonicFox" McLean and William "Leffen" Hjelte. EVO France also includes a dedicated booth for players to experience 2XKO casually.

Riot has already announced over 20 events as part of the First Impact program, spanning Europe, the Americas, and Asia, aiming to establish its new title within the FGC. According to looksports.media, this is a major step for Riot in solidifying their presence in the fighting game community.
