FaZe Clan Crashes Out! CAC Playoffs Bracket Set

Look Sports Media – FaZe Clan’s campaign at the CS Asia Championships 2025 has come to an abrupt end, suffering a 2-1 defeat at the hands of FUT in the lower bracket. This loss marks the second time in the tournament that the international squad of FUT has bested FaZe, having initially sent them to the lower bracket in the opening round.

This tournament proved to be a disappointing one for FaZe, a team that appeared disjointed and struggled to find consistency throughout the event.

The series began poorly for FaZe on Ancient, quickly falling behind 9-1 as Jakub "jcobbb" Pietruszewski struggled to find his footing. While they mounted a comeback on their CT side, it wasn’t enough to prevent a narrow 13-11 loss. Mirage was another closely contested map, with FaZe narrowly securing a 13-11 victory thanks to David "frozen" Čerňanský’s 23 kills. However, on the decisive map of Dust 2, impressive performances from Laurențiu "lauNX" Țârlea and Dmytro "dem0n" Myroshnychenko propelled FUT to victory on their T-side.

While the series was closely contested, the underlying issues plaguing FaZe were evident throughout. The team struggled to maintain consistency, dropping at least one map in every series, including twice against FUT and in their 2-1 victories against TYLOO and B8.

FaZe’s invitation to CAC 2025 was an exception to VRS’s tournament operation requirements, as their ranking technically made them ineligible for a direct invitation to the Tier 2 event. They were invited as the winners of the previous CAC event in 2023, positioning them as the favorites on paper. However, despite their ranking advantage, they failed to advance beyond the group stage.

Several factors contributed to FaZe’s early exit. Firstly, this was their first event with the new permanent lineup featuring Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, following the benching of Håvard "rain" Nygaard. FaZe had intended to play ESL Pro League with the CAC roster but were forced to field rain due to roster regulations. As a result, the team had limited practice time with jcobbb, making CAC 2025 the first time the full five players competed together in official matches.

Secondly, FaZe faced a quick turnaround from ESL Pro League, with some players traveling immediately after their third/fourth-place decider against Mouz. These organizational challenges undoubtedly impacted the team’s performance.

Despite the setback, FaZe’s focus now shifts to the StarLadder Budapest Major 2025, where they will begin in Stage 1. They must quickly address their teamwork and communication issues to improve their chances at the Major.
