Game Awards Lands on Prime: Epic Streaming Deal Revealed!

Look Sports Media – The prestigious Game Awards are set to reach an even wider audience this year, as the show will be livestreamed on Amazon’s Prime Video for the very first time. This landmark deal marks a significant expansion for the annual celebration of gaming, alongside its traditional broadcast on Twitch and other platforms.

The highly anticipated event, showcasing the best in video games and esports, will take place live from the Peacock Theatre in Los Angeles on December 11th, running from 5-8pm PT (1am-4am GMT, December 12th). This marks a pivotal moment for the Game Awards, launched in 2014, as it ventures onto a major streaming service for the first time, promising unprecedented reach.

Beyond Prime Video and Amazon-owned Twitch, viewers can also tune in via YouTube, X, TikTok, and select platforms in China. As always, the Game Awards promises a thrilling spectacle of new game reveals, major announcements, and captivating live performances.

The event will not only honor the best games of the year but also recognize outstanding achievements in esports, celebrating top players and teams.

"We’re thrilled to bring our global celebration of video games to even more audiences with the addition of Prime Video," stated Geoff Keighley, Creator and CEO of The Game Awards.

Keighley emphasized the synergy between the event and the platform, noting that "Prime Video is a natural home for our show," especially with the upcoming Season 2 release of the Fallout adaptation on the service.

Adding to the excitement, the 2025 Game Awards will be streamed on Twitch in 2K (1440p) for the first time, enabling thousands of creators to co-stream the event. Last year saw over 11,000 creators restreaming the broadcast, and Twitch’s new co-stream feature could attract even more this year.

Viewers watching on Twitch for 30 minutes or more will also be eligible for Twitch Drops, including exclusive in-game items and a limited-edition TGA badge. Specific reward details will be announced closer to the show’s air date in December.

Esports Spotlight at The Game Awards

The Game Awards 2025 will feature three dedicated esports categories, highlighting the best in competitive gaming.

Last year, League of Legends took home the award for Best Esports Game at the 2024 Game Awards. Lee "Faker" Sang-hyeok was crowned Best Esports Athlete, and his team, T1, secured the title of Best Esports Team.

Faker’s victory came against fierce competition, including fellow LoL midlaner Jeong "Chovy" Ji-hoon, Counter-Strike 2 icon Mathieu "ZyWoO" Herbaut, and Valorant Champions 2024 winner Zheng "ZmjjKk" Yongkang.

The T1 star is a strong contender for Best Esports Athlete once again, following Faker and T1’s third consecutive LoL Worlds title win against KT Rolster.
