Look Sports Media – The inaugural League of Legends Game Changers Rising (LGC) tournament has finalized its eight competing teams, setting the stage for an electrifying showdown in Paris. This official Riot Games women’s League of Legends tournament for the EMEA region follows the successful Game Changers Valorant events, exclusively for women and those who identify as women. The group stage, running from September 13th to 28th, will precede the Playoffs commencing October 13th, culminating in a grand final at Paris Games Week on October 30th at the Paris Expo Porte de Versailles. This prestigious event will also host the EMEA Masters Summer Finals, with Los Ratones competing despite scheduling controversy.
Qualification for LGC Rising unfolded in three phases. Riot extended invitations to three teams affiliated with its LEC partners: G2 Hel, SK Avarosa, and Vitality Rising Bees. G2 Hel notably created history as the first all-women’s team to reach LoL esports’ Tier 2, competing in Spain’s Circuito Tormenta. Their recent Equal Esports Cup victory against Solary Academy further solidified their standing.

The Equal Esports Cup also provided entry for Solary, Nexus Reapers, and Galions Pearl. The remaining two spots were fiercely contested in open qualifiers, ultimately claimed by Eterna (with a perfect 6-0 record) and Zerance Bloom (5-1).

Predicting a victor proves challenging. While G2 Hel, after their Equal Esports Cup triumph and Tier 2 experience, are strong favorites, Solary’s impressive run, including a 2-0 victory over Vitality, cannot be overlooked. A best-of-five match between these two powerhouses could easily swing either way. SK Avarosa, despite a less-than-stellar Equal Esports Cup performance, boasts a formidable history, having won the tournament in 2023 under the guidance of former Fnatic coach Joshua "Jarge" Smith, making them a potential dark horse. The stage is set for intense competition and unexpected upsets. The battle for the LGC Rising title promises to be a memorable one.
