Liquid Reclaims EliGE: FaZe’s Twistzz Gamble – Will It Pay Off?

Look Sports Media – After a two-year stint with Complexity Gaming and FaZe Clan, Jonathan "EliGE" Jablonowski is returning to his former home, Team Liquid, sparking excitement among fans who remember his dominant run with the organization.

EliGE’s eight-year tenure with Team Liquid (2015-2023) was marked by significant achievements, including victories at ESL One Cologne 2019 and IEM Sydney. Since his departure, Team Liquid has struggled to recapture that same level of success. Despite re-acquiring Russel "Twistzz" Van Dulken, the team has fallen short of Tier One status, most notably suffering a humiliating defeat against VP.Prodigy, an Academy team, at the 2025 RES Showdown 2: BLAST Premier Rising event. Team Liquid hopes that EliGE’s return will provide the missing ingredient needed to restore their former glory.

However, Team Liquid isn’t the only team seeking a resurgence. FaZe Clan, too, is aiming for redemption after a disappointing year. Adding an interesting layer to the situation, both teams’ paths to recovery hinge on a player exchange: EliGE leaves FaZe Clan (after being benched earlier in 2025) to rejoin Team Liquid, while FaZe Clan welcomes back Twistzz. This mutual transfer sets the stage for a captivating competitive dynamic between the two organizations.

COLLABMEDIANET

The race is on for both FaZe Clan and Team Liquid to seamlessly integrate their new (or returning) players, rebuild synergy, and usher in a new era of dominance. EliGE is slated to immediately join Team Liquid’s roster for the upcoming Birch Cup (September 26th-28th), a crucial tournament for accumulating VRS points ahead of the Budapest Major.

Twistzz’s future on FaZe Clan, however, remains uncertain. The organization has yet to announce which player he will replace. FaZe Clan’s IGL, Finn "karrigan" Andersen, stated at BLAST Open Fall London 2025, "Now it’s back to the old FaZe Clan," during a tournament where new player Jakub "jcobbb" Pietruszewski had a chance to prove himself. However, FaZe Clan was swiftly eliminated in the Quarterfinals.

Criticism has been directed at both karrigan and the team’s overall dynamic. Given that Twistzz is not expected to take on the IGL role, it is unlikely he will replace Karrigan. As Bob Bobinski pointed out on X, formerly Twitter, FaZe had the worst CT side 5v4 conversion rate of all teams at Blast London.

Ultimately, the journeys ahead for both FaZe Clan and Team Liquid remain shrouded in mystery, leaving fans eager to see how these roster changes will impact their competitive trajectories.
