Major Upset! Imperial & Parivision Advance, Legacy Crumbles

Look Sports Media – Imperial and Parivision have secured their spots in Stage 2 of the StarLadder Budapest Major, while Legacy, the highest-ranked team entering Stage 1, faced a shocking elimination. Dzhami "Jame" Ali’s Parivision delivered the final blow, sending the Brazilian squad packing after a hard-fought series.

Imperial’s advancement was unexpected, particularly as the sole Brazilian representative to progress. Their journey wasn’t marked by spectacular victories, but rather by consistent wins against weaker opponents and losses to stronger teams. Their 3-2 record reflects a favorable draw. After defeating Rare Atom, who were the first team eliminated, they lost to FlyQuest and Fnatic. In the best-of-three matches, they secured a 2-0 victory against The Huns and another 2-0 win against an NRG team playing with coach Damian "daps" Steele due to Nick "nitr0" Cannella’s absence. Imperial’s victory over NRG was decisive, with a strong T-side start on Nuke and a dominant performance on Train. Felipe "skullz" Medeiros played a crucial role in their success.

Parivision’s victory over Legacy was another nail-biting affair, marked by overtime drama. After two overtime wins against GamerLegion, they once again closed a series in overtime, defeating Legacy 19-16 on Dust 2. Jame’s strategic playstyle proved effective in wearing down their opponents. Parivision started strong on Ancient, securing an early lead. Andrey "BELCHONOKK" Yasinskiy’s impactful performance on the CT-side helped them secure the map. Legacy bounced back on Inferno, dominating the second half. Dust 2 was a rollercoaster for both teams, but Legacy ultimately fell short, failing to convert multiple map and series points.

Legacy’s elimination is a significant upset, especially after their victory at the CS Asia Championships and runner-up finish at PGL Masters Bucharest. Despite Bruno "latto" Rebelatto’s individual performance, the team underperformed, with star player Eduardo "dumau" Wolkmer remaining largely anonymous.
