Pokémon TCG Pocket: 10 Critical Fixes Needed Now!

Look Sports Media – It’s been nearly a year since Pokémon TCG Pocket hit mobile devices, and while the digital card game initially exploded in popularity, raking in over $900 million in its first six months, recent data indicates a worrying decline. Revenue has plummeted by 50% in the last month alone, a trend exacerbated by negative community reception to the new Pokémon Pocket Deluxe Pack update. To revitalize the game and retain its player base, here are ten essential updates and features that Pokémon TCG Pocket desperately needs.

  1. Expand Deck Slots: Players are constantly battling the limited number of deck slots. While DeNa increased the limit from 15 to 20 earlier this year, it’s still insufficient. Players are forced to delete decks regularly, and the lack of shareable deck codes adds to the frustration. A small increase with each new expansion would be a welcome change.

  2. Implement "Claim All" for Rental Decks: The game needs more "claim all" buttons. DeNa addressed this with the bulk-buy hourglass option, but the same needs to happen for rental decks, especially with the influx from the Deluxe Pack update.

  3. Introduce Dark Mode: This is a highly requested feature. The game’s all-white interface is blinding at night, making it difficult to play comfortably. Implementing a dark mode would significantly improve the user experience.

  4. Accelerate Animations: The game’s slow animations are a major source of frustration, especially during online battles. The delays can easily lead to timeouts, even when players are strategizing. Streamlining the game’s pace is crucial.

  5. Enable Opening Multiple Promo Packs: Players should be able to open multiple promo packs at once. The current system of opening each pack individually is tedious, especially when players earn a large number of them during events.

  6. Introduce New Events: After a year of the same repetitive events, DeNa needs to add variety to keep players engaged. New event formats and challenges would revitalize the gameplay experience.

  7. Remove Level Cap: Many players have already reached the maximum level of 50, removing any incentive to continue playing. Removing the cap and offering rewards for continued leveling would encourage player retention.

  8. Add More Daily Challenges: More daily challenges would provide players with additional goals and rewards, keeping them coming back to the game.

  9. Pool Pack Points: Players want the ability to pool Pack Points across expansions. Currently, Pack Points are tied to specific packs, making it difficult to obtain desired cards from older sets. Allowing Pack Points to carry over would be a welcome change.

  10. Customize Home Screen Pack Selection: The game should allow players to choose which packs are displayed on the home screen. The current system of automatically opening the most recently released pack is inconvenient and makes it difficult to navigate to older packs.
