This marks a significant expansion for the LoL franchise, offering fans a tangible new way to engage with their favorite champions and lore.

While drawing inspiration from the digital card game Legends of Runeterra (LoR), Riftbound stands as a distinct entity, leveraging familiar artwork to create a fresh and immersive TCG experience. Designed for both casual gatherings and competitive play, Riftbound supports diverse multiplayer formats, including intense 1v1 duels, strategic 2v2 team battles, and chaotic free-for-all skirmishes.

The initial set, Riftbound Origins, boasts a substantial collection of over 300 cards, providing players with a wealth of strategic options. Newcomers can dive in with the Proving Grounds starter box, featuring pre-constructed decks for Annie, Garen, Lux, and Master Yi, designed for two to four players. For those seeking a more randomized experience, Booster Packs contain 14 cards of varying rarities, while Booster Boxes offer a treasure trove of 336 cards across 24 packs. Players can also get ready-to-play Champion Decks for Jinx, Lee Sin, and Viktor.

Each Champion Deck is a carefully curated collection of 56 cards, encompassing a range of card types, including units, legends, champions, spells, gear, runes, and battlegrounds. This variety allows players to craft unique strategies and personalize their gameplay experience.

Riot Games has already unveiled its roadmap for Riftbound, with the next set, Riftbound Spiritforged, slated for release on February 13th, 2026. The publisher plans to release four expansions annually, ensuring a steady stream of new content and evolving gameplay.

The first competitive season for Riftbound is on the horizon, with the inaugural English Regional Qualifier scheduled for December 5th-7th in Houston, Texas. This event will serve as a proving ground for aspiring Riftbound champions, setting the stage for a thriving competitive scene.
