Spiritbox & 2XKO: Heavy Metal Mayhem Incoming?!

Look Sports Media – The worlds of heavy metal and fighting games are set to collide as Canadian band Spiritbox appears to be teasing a collaboration with Riot Games’ upcoming title, 2XKO. Frontwoman Courtney LaPlante dropped a cryptic hint on Instagram, sending fans into a frenzy of speculation.

Spiritbox has been on a meteoric rise, especially after their 2025 album "Tsunami Sea." From supporting Linkin Park to LaPlante’s Coachella performance with Megan Thee Stallion, they’ve conquered major milestones. Now, it seems they’re setting their sights on the gaming world.

The teaser, a blurred video featuring League of Legends’ Ahri accompanied by a distorted snippet of a new Spiritbox track, fueled the rumors. LaPlante’s caption, "our two hearts beat," is a likely nod to Ahri’s charm ability and the tag-team nature of 2XKO.

While some initially thought this could be related to the League of Legends World Championship anthem, Riot has already announced those artists for 2025. The 2XKO official account commenting with the eyes emoji further solidified the theory that Spiritbox will be featured in the game.

This wouldn’t be Riot’s first foray into rock music for 2XKO; Polyphia’s "Let’s Go" already serves as the game’s theme. Riot also has a history of embracing rock, most notably with the virtual metal band Pentakill, fronted by Jørn Lande, and their album "Smite and Ignite."

The timing of the teaser coincides with the upcoming early access launch of 2XKO, which will introduce Teemo as the 10th playable character. Riot plans to release five new champions in 2026.
