Kicking off the monumental year is IEM Kraków 2026, scheduled from January 28 to February 8. This 24-team spectacle marks a significant geographical shift for the IEM circuit, departing from its long-standing Katowice home to the colossal Tauron Arena in Kraków, Poland. With a capacity roughly double that of the Spodek Arena, this move signals ESL’s clear intent for a grander, more expansive live audience experience right from the start.

Following this, ESL Pro League Season 23 will see the prestigious league make a triumphant return to arena finals, a format absent since 2019. From March 13-15, the Annexet Arena in Stockholm will host the climactic LAN finals, though only eight of the initial 24 competing teams will earn their spot through two rigorous online stages.

The vibrant energy of Brazil will once again host top-tier Counter-Strike with the return of IEM Rio from April 13-19. Absent from the 2025 calendar, this 16-team tournament makes a welcome comeback, recalling Natus Vincere’s dominant victory in its 2024 iteration.

North American fans can look forward to IEM Atlanta 2026, running from May 11-17, as it integrates into the larger DreamHack Atlanta festival. This event signifies a strategic pivot for the ESL Pro Tour in the region, replacing the long-standing IEM Dallas, which had become a traditional cornerstone for Counter-Strike celebrations in North America. The final three days, May 15-17, will welcome a live audience to the Georgia World Congress Center.

The crown jewel of the first half of the year, IEM Cologne Major 2026, looms large just two weeks after Atlanta, commencing June 2 and running until June 21. This monumental 32-team tournament is a historic moment, marking the first Cologne Major since 2016. The revered Lanxess Arena, affectionately known as ‘The Cathedral of Counter-Strike,’ will host its third Major in total, cementing its legendary status. This epic conclusion to the year’s initial competitive season will precede the crucial mid-year player break.

As the competitive year progresses, ESL Pro League Season 24, from September 24 to October 11, distinguishes itself by hosting a fully-LAN event for its 16 participating teams. The grand finale will bring Pro League back to its spiritual home, the iconic Spodek Arena in Katowice, Poland, from October 9-11, a venue synonymous with Counter-Strike history.

Bringing the 2026 ESL Pro Tour to a close is IEM China, slated for November 2-8. While the specific host city and venue remain under wraps, this 16-team event will feature a competitive mix of 13 teams invited through the Valve Regional Standings (VRS) and three emerging from rigorous qualifiers. This continues ESL’s commitment to the Asian region, building on the success of IEM Chengdu in 2024 and 2025, where Furia most recently claimed victory.
