Look Sports Media – French powerhouse Team Vitality has officially appointed Till Werdermann as their new Head of Esports Operations, signaling a strategic shift in leadership. Werdermann, formerly with OverActive Media, the parent company of Movistar KOI and Toronto KOI, brings a wealth of experience to the Hive.
Werdermann’s departure from OverActive Media in September paved the way for his new role, where he will oversee Vitality’s key esports divisions, including EA Sports FC, League of Legends, Rocket League, and Valorant. The pressure is particularly high for the EA FC 26 team, given their high-profile partnership with Champions League winners Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Prior to joining Vitality, Werdermann served as the Director of Team Operations at KOI, OverActive’s League of Legends division. His tenure saw the MKOI LoL team achieve significant milestones, including appearances at both MSI and the World Championships.

Now based in Berlin, Werdermann is expected to play a pivotal role in shaping Vitality’s LEC roster decisions for the upcoming year. In a social media post, Werdermann expressed his excitement, stating, "Excited to announce that I’ve joined Team Vitality as Head of Esports Operations. I’ve already been working with the teams across Berlin and Paris this October, and it’s been a pleasure to be at such a storied organization!"
Werdermann’s prior involvement with the organization raises questions about his potential influence on Chronicle’s controversial Valorant transfer to Team Vitality. The acquisition of Timofey "Chronicle" Khromov, a two-time Valorant Champions finalist, is widely regarded as a major win for Vitality.
In addition to Valorant, Werdermann will also be tasked with revitalizing Vitality’s Rocket League roster. Despite boasting Alexis "zen" Bernier, considered one of the greatest Rocket League players of all time, the team experienced a disappointing 2025, failing to reach a final in any major tournament or at the RLCS Worlds.
However, one of Werdermann’s most pressing challenges will be addressing Team Vitality’s struggles in League of Legends. While the team showed promise by reaching the top six of the LEC Summer Split, they haven’t qualified for Worlds since 2018. With talented rookies like Kaan "Naak Nako" Okan on the roster, Vitality’s future roster moves under Werdermann’s leadership will be closely watched.
Team Vitality, known for its dominance in other esports like Counter-Strike, where they have secured multiple CS2 major wins, and their impressive third-place finish at the Esports World Cup Club Championship, earning $3 million, is looking to replicate that success in League of Legends under Werdermann’s guidance.
