Look Sports Media – Fnatic and star support player Mihael "Mikyx" Mehle have mutually agreed to terminate his contract, sending shockwaves through the League of Legends community after the team’s disappointing exit from the World Championship. The announcement marks the end of a tumultuous season for both Mikyx and the UK-based organization.
Despite having a year remaining on his contract, the former G2 Esports standout, widely regarded as one of the best supports in the EMEA region, will be exploring new opportunities. Fnatic officially announced the departure via Twitter, thanking Mikyx for his contributions throughout the year, while acknowledging that the team fell short of their goals.

Fnatic’s 2025 LEC season was marred by internal strife and public criticism. After failing to qualify for the First Stand and Mid-Season Invitational, Head Coach Fabian "GrabbZ" Lohmann openly questioned the team’s dedication. Assistant Coach Christopher "Duffman" Duff echoed these sentiments, highlighting a lack of meaningful practice. Even after replacing Marek "Humanoid" Brázda with Yoon "Poby" Sung-won, Fnatic’s Worlds performance was lackluster, resulting in a winless run against CTBC Flying Oyster, Bilibili Gaming, and Movistar KOI. This prompted further criticism from coaching staff member Pablo "Gaax" Pérez, who expressed disappointment in the team’s commitment.

It remains unclear whether Mikyx’s departure was a result of these internal issues or a personal decision to seek a fresh start. The move follows other controversial roster decisions, including the announcement that Cai "CYPHER" Watson would not be participating in the StarLadder Budapest CS2 Major.
Mikyx’s legacy in the League of Legends scene is undeniable. As a key member of the legendary G2 Esports squad, he secured victory at MSI 2019 and reached the Worlds final in the same year. Despite missing Worlds in 2021 and 2022, he has since attended the last three iterations of the prestigious tournament. Furthermore, his eleven LEC titles solidify his status as the league’s most decorated support player. With his proven track record and exceptional talent, Mikyx is sure to attract interest from teams across both the LEC and LCS regions, assuming he continues his competitive career.
